Every year thousands of spectators (not to mention millions at home) line the banks of the River Thames from Putney to Mortlake to cheer on the competing rowing crews from Oxford and Cambridge universities. And nowhere offers a better view of the legendary Boat Race than the glorious Thai Square Putney Bridge, located near the start line. Come along on Saturday 24th March and cheer on the rowers as one of the world’s oldest sporting events unfolds in all its excitement. Enjoy fine dining in our second-floor restaurant, complete with live broadcasts of the action, or snack on some Thai Square favourites being served outside the restaurant.
Dishes start at only £1 and include crispy vegetable and duck spring rolls, chicken satay, hot vegetarian stir-fried noodles and the classic chicken green curry with rice.
Chicken Satay – chicken breast skewers marinated with Thai herbs & coconut milk, grilled and served with peanut sauce & brown toast.
Vegetable Spring Rolls – vermicelli noodles, dried mushrooms, shredded cabbage and carrots rolled in rice paper and deep fried until crisp served with sweet chilli sauce.
Chicken Green Curry with Rice – chicken with green curry paste, coconut milk, fresh green chillies, aubergines, bamboo shoots, long beans & sweet basil leaves served on steamed rice.
LIVE MUSIC & RESIDENT DJS
The festivities don’t stop when the racing does; there will be live music (8pm – 11pm) and resident DJs rocking the ground floor bar until 2am! Thai Square Putney will be hosting an electric live set including a great mix of Pop, Rock, Soul and Funk repertoire with an award-winning Wedding and Party Band Karizma Band. We guarantee to get all of you rushing for the dance floor!
