Delicious Thai Cuisines to Make For Christmas

It’s celebration time as Christmas is around the corner. The Head Chef of Thai Square has chosen these recipes for you. He says that cooking is an art and Christmas is the best time to impress your family and friends by making these special dishes, which have been chosen from the vast menu of the Thai Square  Christmas special.

Chicken Satay

Chicken Satay

Ingredients for marinating

750 g boneless chicken breast cut into 1 inch strips
½ cup coconut milk
1 tsp. curry powder
1 clove garlic
1 ½ tsp. brown sugar
Salt around ½ tsp.
½ tsp. black pepper, grounded

Ingredients for the peanut sauce

1-cup coconut milk
½ cup peanut butter
1-cup chicken stock
3 tbsp. brown sugar
1 tsp. soy sauce
Juice of 2 lemons
Salt to taste

Procedure

1. Mix together ½ cup coconut milk, garlic, curry powder, brown sugar, salt and pepper until sugar dissolves. Add chicken and marinate it for at least 2 hours.

2. Preheat the grill. Grill the chicken after threading them in skewers.

3. Now for the peanut sauce, heat 1-cup coconut milk in a pan. Add peanut butter, chicken stock and brown sugar. Also add salt. Cook for 5 minutes. Stir occasionally. Now increase the heat and stir continuously until smooth and thick. After removing from heat, add lemon juice and soy sauce.

Vegetable tempura

Ingredients

Oil for deep-frying
1-cup flour
2 egg yolks
Mixed herbs
Salt

Vegetable pieces like broccoli, cauliflower, strips of bell pepper, or any other vegetable cut into pieces. You can also use sweet potatoes and onion.

Procedure

1. Heat the oil in a deep fryer or pan. Oil should reach 350 degrees.

2. Combine 1-cup water with the flour and egg yolks. The batter should be thick.

3. Add salt pepper and herbs to the batter. You can also add ¼ tbsp. baking powder.

4. Dredge the vegetables lightly in dry flour and then dip them in the batter.

5. Put them in hot oil for frying. Cook till golden brown.

6. Serve with chili garlic dip.
