Learn Garlic prawns Recipe from Thai Square Restaurant

Out of all the cuisines, Thai food is the only one that maintains a balance between different flavours including spicy, sour, sweet, salty, and bitter too sometimes. One such salty-sugary, garlicky and a tad spicy authentic Thai dish that makes for a great appetizer at parties is Thai garlic prawn. Apart from being of full of flavour, the Thai garlic prawn is a dish that doesn’t require more than 15 minutes of cooking time provided that you have all your ingredients in place and are all set for cooking. So without further discussion, let us create the recipe shared by the MasterChef of Thai Square Restaurant, a place where you can relish the best Thai Garlic prawns.

Garlic prawns

You will need 1kg medium green king prawns, peeled, tails intact; about 6 garlic cloves, chopped; 2cm portion fresh ginger, peeled, chopped; 2 spring onions, peeled and chopped, 1 lemongrass stalk (white part only), chopped; 1 red chilli, chopped; 2 teaspoons of roughly grated palm sugar with lime chunks and fresh coriander leaves, for garnishing.

Method of cooking

Make sure you remove the prawns from the fridge around 30 minutes before you began to cook. Place garlic, ginger, spring onion, lemongrass and chilli in a mixer and blend until finely chopped.

Heat oil in a large, deep frying pan on medium-high heat. Add garlic mixture. Cook while stirring, for 2 minutes or until aromatic. Now, you can add the prawns and cook, tossing occasionally, for about 3 to 4 minutes or until prawns are pink. Remove the prawns from the frying pan and add lime juice and sugar.

Serve prawns in oil mixture with lime wedges and sprinkled with coriander leaves and you’re absolutely good to go!

Another exclusive Thai Square Restaurant tip:

If serving at a Party or as an Appetiser: Use tongs to pick shrimp out of the pan, allowing most of the sauce to drip back into the pan and Arrange it on a platter with tails up and stick a toothpick into each one for easier eating and avoiding all that mess. Sprinkle with some fresh coriander and garnish with lime chunks.

Then enjoy this dish while receiving all the compliments.
