Thai Square x Lions of Windsor 2019

It’s time for the mane course in Windsor.

Thai Square Windsor is joining the giant pride of Lions of Windsor 2019 with a life-size sculpture being displayed at the restaurant between August until October. It will then be auctioned for charity as part of the celebrations commemorating the 200th anniversary of the birth of Queen Victoria. The sculpture will be decorated by the famous Thai jewellery designer M.L Rojanatorn Na Songkhla in collaboration with Mr Singha Lasri from Jewellista Co., Ltd.

M.L Rojanatorn currently resides in Bangkok. Her designs, inspired by Victorian and Thai aesthetics, will incorporate a collage of her most recent works which will be brought to life on the lion. Using her free hand painting technique and decoupage paper with her signature ornate earring design and finishing with beads and jewel pieces by Jewellista from Thailand as the final touch. This 5-day process was conducted at 47 Windsor Yards Shopping Centre from 17th – 21st July 2019, featuring a large glass window enabling visitors to observe and engage.

With a career span of over 30 years, M.L Rojanatorn is no stranger to jewellery design on the international stage. Her most recent works include the prestigious Miss Universe Thailand 2019 crown, along with various custom-made jewellery she has been creating in the past 30 years for both royal and loyal customers internationally. Her mission to lead this project is to shine a light on the talents of Thai designers to a wider audience.

Lions of Windsor 2019, curated by Creative Director Lisa Todd, are a colourful display of public art with over 60 individually decorated life size lion sculptures displayed across the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead. Each will then be auctioned to raise much need funds for local charities. (E.g. Thames Hospice, the Lions Club of Windsor, cancer charity Look Good Feel Better and the wildlife charity Tusk)
